Ten things I thought I’d NEVER do:
- Ran a marathon
- Enjoy cooking
- Cowgirl-up chasing a cow on horseback
- Have a kids
- Let my sister set me up on a blind date
- Marry the blind date my sister set me up on
- Have a poodle as a pet
- Get my real estate license
Sometimes life surprises you with some unexpected twists and turns.
My super broker origin story was one of these major “surprises” in my life. My father was actually the family Realtor and, after 15 years in real estate, it was his time to hang the cape and retire. He informed my sister and I that it was our turn to carry the torch and answer the call — we still needed a real estate license in the family.

After a heated argument with my sister (which I lost because arguing is my sister’s superpower), I ended up with the real estate license. I inherited a mix of residential and commercial clients in need and dove in. Well, actually, I waded in — I still needed to come up with a superhero costume, after all.
I began my journey in 2008 and the real estate market was moving a bit slow — slower than a speeding… turtle. Despite my reluctance, after the first year, I realized how much I loved it. It’s never been boring because I am helping new people every day and learning new things every step of the way.
